The long-established Munchner Haus Delicatessen in Fremont, aka Rita’s German Deli, is reportedly closing by the end of this year. Several Santa Clara residents are suing the city in hopes of stopping what they consider a “biased and unlawful” ballot measure that’s set to go before voters in the March 2024 election.On Dec. 5, the Santa Clara City Council approved two ballot measures for the upcoming election that will ask voters whether the city should change the police chief and city clerk positions from elected roles to appointed ones. (BCN) -- A man suffered serious injuries in a shooting on Wednesday afternoon in Daly City, according to police.The shooting was reported at about 4:35 p.m. in the area of MacDonald Avenue and Schwerin Street. Suspect in fatal Pacifica stabbing found dead When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds. (KRON) – A Redwood City resident was arrested for commercial burglary of a car wash on Wednesday. Redwood City officers responded to an alarm at a car wash on Woodside Road around 1:00 a.m. on Dec. 20. According to police the alarm indicated there was a masked suspect in the equipment room of the business. Mother in court, accused of DUI crash that killed 5-year-old girl RCPD was assisted by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, which provided a deputy and a canine and a perimeter was set up. According to police, the suspect was hiding on the business's roof. The Redwood City Fire Department provided a ladder to detain the suspect. PRAGUE (AP) — People in the Czech capital were trying to come to grips Friday with the worst mass shooting in the country’s history that left 14 dead and dozens wounded inside a university building.
